DeSoto Square Mall isn't as great as it used to, due to losing most of the big stores. Dillard's for one, they replaced it with Hutsons Furniture Store.
Visit the mall, you will be glad you did, as there are many type of store there. Including the theater!
We were at Hudson's Furniture and very happy with there. Mall has new owners and good ideas. Hope they can make it.
The mall is going through some difficult times at the moment. Not what you would normally expect at a city mall - short on good department stores - I wish them well and hope they can turn it around
I thought this mall had been abandoned for years & was shocked it was still open. It's in horrible shape & I felt very uneasy when trying to park & walk into the mall because even though it was the middle of the day, there were hardly any cars anywhere & the whole place felt dirty & very unsafe. I was watching my back carefully as I walked up to the doors & once I got in I felt just as worried. The few people in there were rough to say the least, but once I got into the store I was visiting, I felt much more comfortable. Bath & Body Works & Victoria's Secret were both very nice, but as soon as I walked out of those stores I got spooked again & had to leave. If I ever go back I will for sure bring someone with me.
I'm sure it was a nice mall at one time but now it's almost empty. I'd say half the mall is for rent. At first I thought the place was abandoned it was dark and walked halfway thru before seeing an actual store.
They remodeled it, years back and the Skylight are wonderful. Nice & bright during the day! It's decorated for the Holidays! Just lovely. JC Penney's and Sears are still there!
This mall has been around for 35 plus years, and I hope it stays forever, as the Food Court has every type of food one could want!
