If you are a donor considering making a contribution to this center, I urge you to reconsider and search for another women's facility in the area that actually cares about the health and wellbeing of its patients. I called today attempting to schedule a mammogram due to a large lump that I discovered in my breast and after being transferred multiple times to different people who only cut me off mid sentence before muttering something else (total hold time was 30 mins) and transferring me to another extension, I was denied an appointment and told by a manager there that per FL law, I have to have a physician referral for a mammogram (never had this issue in the past when scheduling a mammogram). They refused to see/treat me and instead insisted that they were required by law to have what is essentially a medically unnecessary barrier to early detection. My insurance also does not require any type of referral or prior authorization for this procedure. I am very disappointed and appalled.
